Answers about eligibility, submissions, files, judging, fees, and prizes.
01 Who can participate in the Artistic Photography Awards?
Professional and amateur photographers from around the world may participate, provided they read and follow the competition rules.
02 How many photographs can I enter in one series?
A series contains at least 2 and no more than 7 photographs: one lead image and up to six supporting images. All images must share a theme or concept and one title, and the series is judged as a whole.
03 How do I know whether my submission is complete?
Incomplete or unpaid submissions are not eligible for judging. You can check entry status in the Member Section under Entry History.
04 How should I submit my photographs?
Complete the online form with the credit name, title, description, and selected categories. After completing the entry details, continue to the upload page and add the photographs.
05 What specifications should digital files have?
Images should use sRGB, be JPG files no larger than 2 MB, and measure between 1000 and 1500 pixels on the longest side. Avoid symbols and spaces in file names. For a series, number images in order of importance and place the strongest image first.
06 Can one photograph be entered in multiple categories?
Yes. The same photograph may be entered in multiple categories. Each additional category receives 20% off the initial entry fee.
07 Is there a limit to the number of entries?
No. You may submit as many entries in as many categories as you wish.
08 Is there a restriction on when a photograph was taken?
No. There is no time restriction on when submitted photographs were created.
09 Can I submit a photograph that has won another award?
Yes. Images awarded by other competitions may be submitted, but an image that has already won an Artistic Photography Awards prize cannot be entered again.
10 Can I change an entry after payment?
No. Paid entries cannot be altered, so review the work carefully before finalizing payment.
11 How do I know IAPA received my entry?
A confirmation email should arrive shortly after the work is submitted and paid for.
12 What is the final deadline time?
Online entries are accepted until 11:59 PM UTC on November 10.
13 What does the overall winner receive?
The overall winner receives USD $1,000, the Golden Trophy, and the title Artistic Photographer of the Year.
14 Is judging anonymous?
Yes. Judges do not see participants names or personal details while judging.
15 Will I be compensated when my image is used?
There is no monetary remuneration for competition promotion. If an image is requested for another purpose, the photographer will be contacted and may decline.
16 What do category winners receive?
Category winners receive recognition, certificates, online gallery exposure, press and social promotion, and annual book inclusion according to placement. Interviews are published for the Photographer of the Year and first-, second-, and third-place winners.
